Yanks Trip West Will Do Them Some Good
The Yankees begin a 6 game west coast trip tonight in Seattle before heading down the coast to Anaheim next week. While many teams headed to the post season may dread a relatively short west coast swing this late in the season, we think this could be great for the Yankees. Why, you ask? They should have no trouble taking 2 of 3 from the Mariners this weekend, allowing them to get to the precipice of the AL East crown. Also, their series in Anaheim will give them a nice taste of a hostile road environment, one that they have struggled in over the past decade and where they may find themselves come October. Then they return to the Bronx for 3 more with the Red Sox, by which time they should be in a position to give their starters a few days off in advance of their World Series push.
