Joba Chamberlain: Chump

Joba Chamberlain barely last through yesterday’s start in Seattle. The big issue is he was only scheduled to throw 4 innings, part of the Yankees plan to save his precious arm for the rest of his career. Newsflash: He is on track to have no career, considering HE CAN’T GET ANYONE OUT! Job went just 3 innings yesterday, allowing 7 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks as the Yankees got bombed 7-1. Joba has 2 “starts” left and is slotted as the Yankees 4th starter in the playoffs. Sound the alarm. Joba is not ready to start in the playoffs. Period. And we are beginning to wonder if he ever will. So what are they saving him for? The Yankees had an amazing asset with Chamberlain coming out of the pen, and now they have a starter who throws in the low 90’s and lacks command of 3 pitches that any starter needs to become a winner. But at least his arm isn’t overworked.
